Clients consistently report that “getting ready for work” is the most stressful part of their day. That stress can manifest in different ways for each person.
For some, waking up early is a challenge, especially during the dark winter months. The snooze button allows for five more minutes of luxurious sleep. After hitting the snooze button a few times, you suddenly realize it is late. The race is on!
After a quick rinse in the shower, you stare blankly into your closet. You rifle through blouses, dresses, and sweaters. Nothing feels right. One blouse is too wrinkled, so you toss it onto the floor. The rayon blouse feels too thin and your office is cold. You toss it onto the floor. The dress is perfect but you need to wear tights to stay warm as you walk to the train station. Tights make you feel like a school girl. You toss the dress onto the floor. Now you are late! You get dressed hurriedly.
You arrive at work and head to your first meeting. In the conference room, you try to focus on the presentation. Your eyes drift to the women who are, seemingly, perfectly dressed. Scarves and blazers and heels all look elegant. You feel self-conscious. The khakis and cardigan you are wearing feel boring, they don’t feel like you. Now you feel inferior. Suddenly, the eyes in the room shift and it is now your turn to present data findings to the group.
What you wear matters!
The clothes, shoes, and accessories all speak to who you really are — also known as, your authentic self. Honing in on your authentic self will help you feel genuine, confident, and at ease. You will start to enjoy conversing with others, instead of comparing yourself to them. Living as your authentic self is noticeable from the moment you walk into a room. People are not just looking at your clothes. People are looking at You.
My entire practice is about getting you to realize and express your authentic self through my holistic wardrobe consulting. Book your session for December now.
Join me Wednesday, November 7, at 7 p.m., for cocktails, nibbles, mingling, and fun, at River and Roads, 57 Eastern Ave., Essex. Contact me to RSVP.

What’s even better than peanut butter and chocolate? Goddess energy and wardrobe restyling! They may seem like unlikely co-activities, but here’s the thing:
The practice of the divine feminine energy is a form of radical self-care. It promotes an alignment of mind and body to engender an authentic state of balance and harmony. Awareness of archetype and time carved out from our busy lives are gifts we can give ourselves.
And wardrobe restyling? Curating your closet is also a powerful form of self-care. Have you ever opened your refrigerator door and stood there, waiting for the perfect combination of foods to magically appear and sate your midnight munchies? I’ve spent a lot of time with women who find themselves doing the same thing when they open their closets at the beginning of a new day, or hours before an evening event. Wouldn’t it be great to have a collection of comfortable clothing that fits well and looks terrific? A rack of clothes organized into outfits that both flatter your body and skin tone, and reflect your individual style? What would you do with all that extra time you’d save? How would it feel to escape the daily stress of it all?
I invite you to find out!
Come to this unique workshop designed to teach you how to discover your personal style and find your inner Goddess and extend that by forging a new positive relationship with your wardrobe! I’m partnering with Lisa Kendrick Nichols on Saturday morning, October 13, 10 a.m.–noon to bring you a singular double feature.
Held at 12 Oak Growth and Renewal in Beverly Farms, MA.
In this workshop, we begin to build your vision for a dream wardrobe using the Pinterest app (free).
Please bring a laptop or iPad with the app loaded so you can create while learning.
Compassionate Care ALS will receive a donation (by percentage) from this event.
Space is limited to 6 amazing women!

You might be ready to call me for a Closet Refresh, and you’re wondering what the process of working with me looks like. Let’s go through it step by step.
Start to develop a style of your own.
To get started, I’ll ask you to do a few easy things to prepare. The first is to create a vision board of things you want in your closet based on how you want to dress. The Pinterest app makes it easy to capture images of the items and “looks” you like online.
When I come to your home, we begin by discussing what you selected for inspiration and how you want your own authentic style to look and feel. What do you want in your “dream closet,” and how do you want to express yourself through your wardrobe?
Make way for the rolling rack!
I bring the portable clothing rack. We’ll go through the entire closet at least once quickly and then review to be sure things are sorted in the correct category (donate, give away/sell, clean/repair, keep). You may want to try a quick dry run of this by yourself first. No need for us to debate whether a shrunken T-shirt with a big pizza stain should go! Looking through your fall/winter wardrobe at least once on your own lets you weed out the obvious “discards” and allows us to concentrate on creating your style.
Focus on what’s inside your closet—including hidden treasures.
What I do, and do well, is to laser-focus on what is inside your closet, what you are wearing and using, and what are you hanging onto for no real purpose. We look at everything you own in the current season, including outerwear, footwear, and accessories.
The Closet Refresh is a super-fun process and really helps clear out the old to make way for the new. Using the items you decide to keep, we will build at least 7 new looks. You’ll discover treasures hidden in plain sight and realize you have a good amount of wardrobing that is already bought and paid for.
Create a list for focused shopping.
We will create a list of items you might like to have and a short list of the “gaps” in your wardrobe. Armed with this list on your next shopping trip, you’ll be laser-focused on what you need to buy instead of giving in to random impulse purchases.
By creating your authentic style and knowing what you have and what you need to add to round out your wardrobe, you’ll stop making those “what was I thinking” purchases. No more standing in front of your closet and wondering what to wear, no more scrambling to find an outfit for the day. No more wasted time or money.
One last thing: Have your cell phone charged, because you will try on the new looks we’ve put together and take photos so you can recreate them later. These photos will become part of your own personal “Look Book” and can be loaded into the Pinterest app to take with you when you go shopping and will work to help you stay focused.
I’m looking forward to seeing you soon and working with you on creating your authentic style. Schedule your Closet Refresh today, and let’s get you ready for the new season!
What does “self-care” mean to you, and do you feel like you’re due—or overdue—for some? Self care encompasses a wide range of practices, and I’m delighted to invite you to “Yoga Meets Style,” a unique workshop that blends gentle, relaxing Yoga and Reiki practices with a Vision Board exercise on wardrobe styling. We’ll use Pinterest to create a Vision Board to help you envision what an easier, more curated collection of clothing would look and feel like. You’ll leave feeling more confident about your look and gain a tangible way to start taming your wardrobe so that it causes you less stress and more comfort.
Self-care is about creating a sacred space for yourself where you can be YOU and take tender care of your whole self. It is the quiet, healing space that brings the mind and body together in peaceful harmony. Practices like Reiki, Yoga and Meditation, as taught by my friend and workshop co-hostess Katherine Oregel at The Healing Center in Beverly, MA, can help our minds and bodies work together to find the calm and put us in the right state of mind to tackle the “style” aspect of self care.
How is your wardrobe style a part of self-care? My main goal has always been to bring out the joy, the fun, and the creativity in each of my clients. I want each client’s style to reflect her authentic personality and style. Our clothing and our style can tell a story, and I want my clients to rock their stories!
This is where self-care comes into play. It is difficult to find the joy and the fun inside ourselves if we are consumed by outside or internal stressors. Self-care is about creating a safe space within yourself where you can feel secure in your body, your age, size, skin color, and budget. A place where you can feel beautiful and confident in your clothes and in your authentic style!
My goal is to create a space where we can have a better relationship with our wardrobes. At the workshop, through Vision Board exercises with Pinterest, we will change the way we think about our clothes, our style and our wardrobe. The workshop will start with Reiki and Yoga practices led by Katherine to help each of us find that sacred, quiet, loving space so that together we can reach down deep to find our unique creative self, and visit a place where we can turn vision boards into reality and heal and calm our busy minds.
Helping my clients find their style while practicing self-care brings me tremendous joy. I hope you will join us for the “Yoga Meets Style” workshop at The Healing Center in Beverly, MA, on Saturday morning, September 15. Click here to sign up or learn more.
Most of us share a fear of being judged, and perhaps the thought of a stylist coming to your home for a Style Refresh to “edit” what’s in your closet may be a little intimidating. I get it — many of my clients admit that before our first sessions, they were a little afraid of being judged for falling short of some impossible fashion industry standard, or of having their style choices (or impulse buys) judged or criticized.
Here’s the thing. I’m not here to judge you, criticize you, or laugh at you -- or what’s in your closet. When I’m visiting your home, my focus is on efficiently going through your current-season wardrobe to help you weed out what doesn’t work for you, and then I show you how to do more with what you already have. Throughout the process, I offer gentle encouragement, an honest eye, and loving support -- think of me as that knowledgeable girlfriend who tells it straight in a kind and positive way.
And guess what’s on the other side of the fear? My clients use phrases like “relief,” “a feeling of lightness,” and “joy.” Why?
It’s natural to be a little nervous about trying something new -- I’ve been there. But as my clients realize once we get started on their Style Refresh, they have nothing to fear. They discover I’m kind but firm, generous and honest, observant and creative, and completely focused on discovering their own personal style -- NOT on making them fit into a style that isn’t theirs. (Take a look at what they have to say.) Let’s refresh your style together -- if you let me into your closet, I promise you we’ll have fun and you’ll look and feel fabulous!
Discover your personal style and begin to build your vision for a dream wardrobe using Pinterest.
It's all about cracking open your style code. What you envision, you will manifest. The result is that you will feel confident dressing for every day.
Please bring a laptop or an iPad so you can create while learning.
The suggested donation is $20, which will be donated to Compassionate Care ALS. Space is limited to 10 amazing women!
