A closet edit requires me to come into your home, into your bedroom and your closet, which is an intimate experience. And there are a lot of reasons why you might be hesitant, even embarrassed of what's currently in your closet. That's because we hang onto things for a number of reasons.
Maybe you're in a period of transition, and you're unsure of where you want to go. You might find that your weight is fluctuating, and so you're hanging onto things in a spectrum of sizes.
If you’re considering a closet edit and you’re just not sure if it’s going to be what you need, I’d suggest checking out some of the testimonials I’ve received. You can find videos and pictures of my clients’ process on my Facebook page, my Instagram feed and here on my blog.
Keep in mind, though, that I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every closet edit has to be personalized for my client's needs.
If the job’s going to get done at all, I have to ask you some hard questions. That’s what I’m there for. Always coming from a place of love and respect for the life that you lead.
We're going to find things you probably didn't even remember you had, and learn new ways to use the things you already own.
The closet edit is meant to do two things: save you time and money.
TIME - When we separate the seasons and tighten your wardrobe, you can walk into your closet in the morning and get ready pretty much on autopilot. We’ll set up outfits, including accessories, that you can throw on with minimal thought. We're going to utilize your smartphone, taking pictures of your clothes so that it's easier to select an outfit without having to shuffle through everything.
MONEY - As we build outfits, I'm going to show you how to use your accessories, your scarves, and jewelry, in new ways. You already have wonderful stuff; you're just not using it.
As we go through your closet, we’ll make a list of gaps. This is a strategic list of things you actually need to buy or upgrade. With this list in hand, you’ll be able to search for the things you know you’re missing and investment pieces, like a good wool coat, without being distracted by things you already have too much of.
If you feel that a closet edit isn't what you need, I can still help you with your wardrobe. You can bring in some older clothes and see how we can make them new. We can discuss accessory options to liven up your wardrobe. We can even plan a personal shopping trip if that's what you feel that you need.
Feel free to check out the services I offer on my website. Remember, they can be mixed and matched to fit your needs.
I’m here to help you. I started this business to help women find their authentic style. I want to help you figure out what you like, not what the fashion industry is telling you looks good. Don’t forget, it is an industry. And if we allow them, they will tell us what they’d like us to buy.
I love to teach young women to love their bodies just as they are. I also love to teach women in their forties, fifties and above, my contemporaries and peers. At this point, we should have arrived. We should be fully aware of our unique style and comfortable in ourselves.
Whatever age you are, I want to teach you to love your body right now. Not where you were when you were younger before your body changed. Not in the future when you've reached your weight goal. I want you to love who you are right this minute, and have a closet that helps you love you.
Be a more conscious buyer and avoid over-consuming!
If you're reading this post right now and we've worked together in the past, then I have a favor to ask you. Please take a moment and comment below about your experience.
